
Turner Hall and Art & Design Building Substation Replacements
Glesco Electric provided comprehensive electrical construction services for the Art & Design Building and Turner Hall Substation Replacement project at the University of Illinois.
The project involved selective electrical demolition and the installation of new medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems to support upgraded campus infrastructure.
Glesco’s scope included underground duct banks and raceways, medium-voltage cabling, transformers, secondary unit substations, switchboards, panelboards, enclosed switches, and electrical metering equipment. Additional work included new conduit systems, building wire and cable, grounding and bonding, electrical identification, arc-flash hazard analysis, and maintenance testing of electrical systems. All work was completed in accordance with University of Illinois standards and applicable electrical codes to ensure safe, reliable, and long-term system performance.
