University of Illinois Irwin Practice Facility

Glesco Electric, Inc. partnered with Musco Sports Lighting to complete a sports lighting LED retrofit at the Irwin Indoor Practice Facility in Urbana, Illinois. The project involved replacing existing HID lighting with energy-efficient LED fixtures to improve illumination quality, visibility, and overall performance within the facility.

As the electrical contractor, Glesco Electric performed demolition and removal of existing lighting systems, followed by installation of new LED sports lighting and integration with the facility’s existing electrical infrastructure. Work was completed within a high-use indoor athletic environment, requiring careful coordination to maintain reliable operation.

The upgraded lighting system provides consistent, high-quality illumination while reducing energy consumption and maintenance requirements. This project highlights Glesco Electric’s experience in LED lighting retrofits and indoor sports lighting systems for university and athletic facilities across Urbana and Central Illinois.
